Welcome to Elhamani Migration Consultancy, your trusted partner in the world of Canadian immigration. In today’s article, we’ll explore the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP), a unique pathway to Canada for skilled workers and international graduates. We’ll delve into the programs that fall under AIPP and provide step-by-step guidance on how to apply for this exciting opportunity.
What is the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP)?
The Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program is a collaborative effort between the Atlantic provinces of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador, along with the federal government. Its aim is to address labor market shortages in these provinces by welcoming skilled workers, international graduates, and their families as permanent residents.
UNDER AIPP, THERE ARE THREE MAIN IMMIGRATION PROGRAMS:
- Atlantic High-Skilled Program: This program is designed for skilled workers with experience in management, professional, or technical/skilled trades occupations. Eligible candidates receive a job offer from an employer in one of the participating provinces.
- Atlantic Intermediate-Skilled Program: Targeting individuals with experience in intermediate-skilled occupations, this program also requires a job offer from an employer in the Atlantic region. Occupations may include those in healthcare, education, and various technical fields.

HOW TO APPLY FOR THE ATLANTIC IMMIGRATION PILOT PROGRAM (AIPP):
- Step 1: Secure a Job Offer: The first and crucial step is to secure a valid job offer from an employer in one of the Atlantic provinces participating in AIPP. The job offer should be for a full-time, non-seasonal, and non-temporary position.
- Step 2: Meet the Eligibility Criteria: Ensure you meet the eligibility criteria for one of the three AIPP programs based on your work experience, education, and job offer. Be prepared to provide proof of your qualifications and work experience.
- Step 3: Get a Designation from a Provincial Immigration Office: Once you have a job offer and meet the eligibility criteria, your employer must contact the appropriate provincial immigration office to get a designation. This designation is essential for your application.
- Step 4: Apply for Permanent Residency: With your job offer and designation in hand, you can apply for permanent residency through AIPP. You will need to submit all required documents, including the job offer and designation letter, to the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
- Step 5: Wait for Processing: The IRCC will review your application, conduct background checks, and make a final decision on your permanent residency. The processing times can vary, so be patient.
- Step 6: Arrive in Canada: Once your application is approved, you will receive a Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) and can make plans to move to your chosen Atlantic province with your family.
